Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1996 in Stavanger and is known professionally as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase as AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015 receiving rave reviews from the music blogosphere as well as media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are two of the artist's most notable covers. It was further recognized through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the track Runaway. Honor her special birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft and being attracted by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music not to get the purpose of a career or as just a pastime, but to develop. Her first step was to compose the songs she wrote herself. Her inspirations include famous writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her affinity with Bjork's style. After her mom told her that her songs would be a catalyst for her to gain recognition, but also let people see the importance of their music within the global community and see the possibilities for them, she decided to make a public debut. Her first piano lesson was when she was only six and was writing her first song by the time she was nine. The family did not know that she had begun until fourteen. Aurora is not something she set out to achieve. Aurora claims she loves writing songs. She believes that music is the most effective way to experience everything.
